The footprint for change
With 55% of the world's population living in urban areas, cities are evolving to become more local, digital, inclusive, and circular. In this changing urban landscape, companies leave daily footprints with every step they take. It is their responsibility to ensure that these footprints contribute positively to the transformation of cities by collaborating with public administrations, citizens, and non-governmental organizations. In collaboration with Ethic, Glovo is launching The Footprint for Change, a platform that amplifies the voices of those who contribute to shaping the company's impact in all the countries where it operates.
At Glovo, we understand that often, it’s not just about the end result, but also about how we, as companies, conduct our operations. That’s why a few years ago, we decided to incorporate sustainability guidelines into our business model to generate a positive impact.
With this clear purpose as part of our business strategy, today we invest in projects with social, economic, and environmental impact in the countries where we operate: from Spain to Kenya, Morocco, Italy, Ukraine, Romania, and Georgia.
We believe that to leave a positive footprint, the impact must be local and focused on specific environmental and social issues in the city or territory in question. We are convinced that this is how the most significant changes are achieved.
At Glovo, these investments are channeled through our Impact Fund, which is funded by small contributions from every order delivered to customers. This enables us to secure funding for our environmental and sustainability projects, and as Glovo grows, so does the positive impact we can make.
Give-Grow-Green are the three pillars upon which the company's sustainability strategy is built
- Give: By supporting NGOs in digitizing and fundraising to fulfill their mission.
- Grow: By fostering economic growth within the Glovo ecosystem (restaurants, retailers, riders). If our partners thrive, so does the company, and vice versa, as we mutually benefit from each other’s success.
- Green: By investing in environmental conservation to reduce the environmental footprint of the Glovo ecosystem.
These are also the sections into which we’ve divided this editorial project, where we explain positive impact initiatives from the perspective of digital platforms, which contribute to enhancing the societies in which we live.
The footprint for change is a reality at Glovo.
