Almost nine out of ten people in Spain have access to ultrafast broadband at home and more than half have basic digital skills. This is the perfect breeding ground for entrepreneurship. In this century, the decision to set up a business is becoming increasingly common thanks to new technologies. The development of AI and, even more so, the emergence and democratization over the last couple of years of the famous ChatGPT are accelerating this process at breakneck speed.
The second episode of “The Footprint for Change”, a project carried out by Ethic in partnership with Glovo, delves into the profound changes occurring in entrepreneurship. A look at the evolution of the entrepreneur, as seen through the eyes of two leading experts, Carlos Blanco, a natural-born entrepreneur and private investor in new technologies, and Alejandro Vesga, CEO of the Emprendedores magazine.
These days, potential entrepreneurs can start a business whenever they want. As Blanco points out, “you can now set up businesses with far fewer resources, but you can also be more ambitious in terms of international reach”. Furthermore, age is no longer a barrier: “there has been a rise in the age of entrepreneurs, with an increasing number of second time entrepreneurs, people who start companies after the age of 40.”
According to Vesga, “there is a huge opportunity in B2B” for AI-based services and products. He thinks “the great revolution” was not the metaverse, but enterprise software. “This will revolutionize corporate digitalization.”
